In Tuesday's game, the Sasquatch advanced to the Championship Round by defeating the Moose in dramatic fashion. This semi-final matchup proved to be a tale of three chapters. First, the Sasquatch had a great start, taking a 3-0 lead in the second period. However, the Moose did not give up. They battled back to tie the game with three consecutive goals. At the end of regulation time, the score was tied 4-4, sending the game into Overtime. In the extra stanza, Tommy Lesinski was served up a big rebound off a shot by Pete Brown, that he burried to win the game and project the 'Squatch into the Champioship Series.
On Wednesday night, the champioship matchup was decided when the Stingers easily defeated the Slashers in their semi-final game. The Sasquatch vs. Stingers matchup in this Champioship Round will be a rematch from the Finals two years ago, capping off the 2007-08 season. A series that ended in disappointment for the 'Squatch, as the Stingers won in three games. The Stingers also defeated the Sasquatch in the semi-final matchup last season, eventually resulting in their repeat Championship. Both teams have alot to play for in this series. The Stingers look to 3-peat, while the 'Squatch look for payback for the last two playoff defeats. Stay tuned, Game 1 is scheduled for Sunday May 16th @ 7:00pm (date and time are subject to change).
