The 2009-10 Season ended in disappointment for the Sasquatch, as they were defeated by the rival Stingers in two games in the Championship Series at the Polonia Bank Flyers Skatezone. The Sasquatch were outmatched and overwhelmed by the heavily favored Stingers, leading to a 7-2 defeat in Game 1, and an 8-1 defeat in Game 2 of the Best of Three series. The quest for the Championship, as well as payback for playoff eliminations in the previous two seasons, came to abrupt end, as the Stingers talent and systems approach was too much for the 'Squatch to handle.
Although, the 'Squatch were no match for the Stingers in the series and during the regular season, they should hold their heads up high. They finished the regular season with 19-6-1 record, the 19 Wins and 39 Points were the most in a single season by any Sasquatch team. All six regulation losses came at the hands of the Stingers, who were a team, head and shoulders, in a class of theirown. In spite of their struggles against the Stingers, the 'Squatch players continued to play hard and never quit. The Sasquatch didn't win the Championship this season, but that does not mean that this season was not a success. Congrats to the Stingers on their Championship win. But more importantly, congrats to the Sasquatch on a great season. Go Get 'Em Next Year!
