As teams around the Northeast Philadelphia, Lower Bucks, and Montgomery Counties prepared for the upcoming Fall/Winter Season, they almost found themselves having to locate new rinks and leagues to play their 2012-13 season. In an attempt to increase revenues, Comcast-Spectacor issued a new payment policy across Flyers Skatezone rinks across the Delaware Valley, that would have increased league fees by an overwhelming amount, and taking financial control away from the leagues' teams. Upon being notified of the new policy, team captains across the league banded together to contest the new policy and expressed their intent to boycott the rink. In swift fashion, rink management was able to report the league-wide outrage to the corporate offices and have the new policy lifted.
