'Squatch Doubled-Up on Ice and on Scoreboard
Sunday night was a dismal night for the Sasquatch, as the team only had seven skaters going against the Slashers, who rolled into the rink with a thick bench. With Gaynor scratched due to non-hockey related injuries, and with Kilp having a scheduling conflict, the team had to turn to Tony Lopez to play between the pipes for the depleted line-up. Without the likes of Glen Miller, Pete Brown, Mike Wisniewski, Mike Mahoney, Ed Stelacio, and Eric Litchendorf, the team was found battling a bad case of fatigue against the fresh legged Slashers, who rolled three lines throughout the game. Behind the solid goaltending of T.Lo, the 'Squatch showed tremendous heart, playing hard and playing disciplined. The team was able to stay out of the penalty box, and played sound positional hockey in a losing effort. In a game that ended with the old "would've, should've, could've", they didn't. Instead of coming away with the Win ang getting over the .500 mark, the 'Squatch came up short, losing by a score of 4-2. With the loss, the sasquatch are now 4-5-0. They will look to even up their record when they face off against the Stingers on Sunday December 18th @ 10:00pm.
