In a game that was a close knit scoreless battle through nearly two periods, Tony Lopez lit the lamp with a howitzer slapshot from just beyond the left circle to give his team a 1-0 lead going into the third period. The goal not only proved to be the game winner in the Sasquatch's 4-0 win over the Skulls, it was also Lopez' 499th career point with the Sasquatch. Later in the game, the Jim Lopez scored on a one-time slapshot off a feed from bother Tony. The assist took [Tony] Lopez to the 500 point plateau for his career with the Sasquatch; a feat that may never be matched. As if the 500 point milestone wasn't enough, the game proved to be something special for another Sasquatch player as well. Goaltender Mike Gaynor notched his 6th career shutout as a member of the 'Squatch, puting him at the top for all-time shutouts by a Sasquatch goaltender. The shutout came in Gaynor's 127th game (Steve Kilp has 5 shutouts in 53 games).
After the first six games of the season, the Sasquatch are 3-3-0. Although the team is at .500, their record is hardly an indicator of how this team has been playing. With the exception of two games that were played against higher division teams, the Sasquatch have a 3-1-0 record against division opponents, and have a goal differential of 25 goals for, and 9 goals against.
